Alfred Peter Bramer was born in Russia on August 2, 1892. By 1910, he was living in Schenectady, New York. Before joining the military, he worked for the General Electric Company.


On March 30, 1917, Alfred joined the United States Army. He was a Sergeant First Class with Company E, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On May 17, 1918, Alfred was transported overseas aboard the USS President Grant. On October 17, 1918, he was killed in battle during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
