World War I (1914-1918)

Wilfred Francis Bresette was born in Saranac, New York, on August 17, 1885. By 1910, he was living in Schenectady, New York. Before joining the military, he worked as an electrician for General Electric.

Wilfred enlisted in the United States Army. He was a sergeant serving with Company E, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division.  On May 17, 1918, Wilfred was sent overseas aboard the US Army troopship USS President Grant. On September 29, 1918, he was killed in combat during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in the Assumption Cemetery, Clinton County, New York.
