Guy Chester Hyde was born in Scotia, New York, on September 8, 1894.
On August 31, 1917, Guy enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a fireman third class serving aboard the USS Von Steuben. Guy died from pneumonia in Norfolk, Virginia, on February 15, 1918. He is buried in the Maple Shade Cemetery in Scotia, New York.
