Lonnie Thomas Rodwell was born in Lewisburg, North Carolina, on May 6, 1893. By 1915, he had moved to Schenectady. Before joining the military, he worked for the city of Schenectady.
Lonnie enlisted in the United States Army on April 29, 1918, and departed on the USS America on June 10, 1918. He was a Private in Company D of the 367th Infantry Regiment, 92nd Infantry Division. Lonnie died of pneumonia in France on October 9, 1918. Lonnie's final resting place is unknown.
