David Arthur Butler, the son of William and Geneva (Guptill) Butler, was born on December 20, 1924, in New York State. By 1930, he was a resident of Schenectady.
On August 6, 1943, David enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private and was part of Company A, 102nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, 2nd Armored Division. On August 23, 1944, David was killed in battle. He is buried at the Dunston Cemetery, Maine.
