World War II (1939-1945)

Stanley Joseph Butryn was born in Schenectady, New York, on May 10, 1921. He grew up on North Street in the city of Schenectady, and after graduating from Nott Terrace High School in 1940, he started working for General Electric.

On October 12, 1943, Stanley enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with Company F, 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division. On December 6, 1944, Stanley was killed in action in Germany. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
