Stuart Royal McMaster, the son of Henry and Blanch McMaster, was born on June 4, 1922, in Schenectady, New York. He attended the Pratt Institute after graduating from Mont Pleasant High School.

On March 6, 1943, Stuart enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He held the rank of Flight Officer. On February 9, 1945, Stuart was killed when the B-24J Liberator he was aboard crashed into Mt. Harrison in Idaho. He is buried in the Greenfield Cemetery, Saratoga, New York.
