Robert Carl Peters, the son of Paul and Ida (Parent) Peters, was born on January 6, 1917, in Schenectady New York. He attended Nott Terrace High School and graduated in 1936. He then went to work at Peters Drug Store on Union Street for his uncle.
On January 29, 1941, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and began his training at Fort McClellan in Alabama. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with the 106th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On June 26, 1944, during the Battle of Saipan, Robert was killed in combat. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
