Glenn William Pharo was born in Ogdensburg County, New York, on February 26, 1910. By 1935, he was living with his wife and children in the city of Schenectady, and he was working for General Electric.
On December 17, 1942, Glenn enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. He was a private first class serving with the 351st Infantry Regiment, 88th Infantry Division. On March 12, 1943, he was deployed to Italy, and on December 27, 1944, Glenn was killed by a bomb in Northern Italy. He is buried in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, New York.
