World War II (1939-1945)

Mario Leo Riggi was born in Schenectady, New York, on December 31, 1924. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and was a student at Nott Terrace High School. Before entering the military, worked for the Schenectady Army Service Forces Depot.

On March 24, 1943, Mario enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Camp Wolters in Texas. He was a private serving with Company F, 143rd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. On December 15, 1943, Mario was killed in battle in Italy. He is buried in St. Anthony Cemetery in Glenville, New York.
