George Carl Schidzick, the son of Frank and Elizabeth Schidzick, was born on June 10, 1926, in Schenectady, New York. Before joining the military, he went to Vocational High School and worked for the Hershey Beverage Company.
On October 3, 1944, George enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private and served with Company I, 302nd Infantry Regiment, 94th Infantry Division. George was stationed at Camp Blanding in Florida before being sent overseas. On March 22, 1945, George was killed in combat in Germany. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, New York.
