World War II (1939-1945)

George Carl Schidzick was born in Schenectady, New York, on June 10, 1926. He grew up in the city of Schenectady, attended Vocational High School, and worked for the Hershey Beverage Company.

On October 3, 1944, George enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private serving with Company I, 302nd Infantry Regiment, 94th Infantry Division. Before being sent overseas, he was stationed at Camp Blanding in Florida. On March 22, 1945, George was killed in battle in Germany. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, New York.
