Jack Louis Strisower, the son of Sidney and Helen (Backer) Strisower, was born on February 7, 1926, in Schenectady, New York. After graduating from Nott Terrace High School, he went to Alfred and Union Colleges.
On September 23, 1944, Jack enlisted in the United States Army and began his basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division. On February 8, 1945, Jack was killed in battle in Germany. He is buried in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
