Richard Emil Voris, the son of Emil and Genevieve (Lambiase) Voris, was born on April 21, 1924, in Schenectady, New York. In 1942, he received his diploma from Mont Pleasant High School and was awarded a dramatics scholarship to Syracuse University. Richard worked for the Douglas Shoe Store.
In February, 1943, Richard enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Technician Fourth Grade and served with the 2017th Ordinance Medium Maintenance Company. On March 22, 1945, he was lost in battle in the South Pacific. He is buried in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
