William John Williams, the son of Alfred and Margaret (Ritchie) Williams, was born on November 1, 1915, in Keeseville, New York. He was a machinist at the General Electric and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.

On July 11, 1942, William enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He held the rank of Sergeant and served with the 613th Bomber Squadron, 401st Bomber Group, Heavy. On April 20, 1944, William was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Gainesville, New York.
