Korean War (1950-1953)

Edward Francis O'Malley was born in Hoosick Falls, New York, on August 21, 1924. He moved to Schenectady, New York, when he was very young, attended Schenectady public schools, and graduated from college. He was working for General Electric in the city of Schenectady before entering the military.

Edward was in the United States Navy during World War II. He enlisted in July of 1943 and was on the USS Kermit Roosevelt (ARG-16). Before the Korean War, he transferred to the US Air Force and was an airman first class serving with the 3450th Air Base Group. Edward died on June 5, 1953, in a car crash while he was stationed at the Cheyenne Air Force Base in Wyoming. He is buried in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
