Edward W. Zielinski, the son of Anthony and Anna Zielinski, was born on April 12, 1922, in Schenectady, New York. He participated in the track team and orchestra while attending Nott Terrace High School.
Edward held the rank of First Lieutenant and served with the 526th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 86th Fighter Bomber Group of the United States Air Force. On March 9, 1951, the B-29 Flying Super Fortress that Edward was flying vanished over the Mediterranean Sea while en route to Britain for a routine navigational training flight. Edward was never found.
