Martin "Marty" Joseph Cribbs, the son of Arthur J. and Elizabeth K. (Burke) Cribbs, was born on December 31, 1948, in Schenectady, New York. He attended Schalmont High School and worked at the Custom Upholstery Company after graduating.
Martin was drafted into the United States Army on May 28, 1968, and received his basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He held the rank of Sergeant and served with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. On November 14, 1968, Martin started his tour of duty in Vietnam. On October 25, 1969, Martin was killed in a tank while en route to Kon Tum Province, South Vietnam. He is buried in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam, New York.
