Charles Edward Burdick, the son of Frank and Bertha Burdick, was born on June 30, 1920, in Schenectady, New York. He attended Draper High School and worked for General Electric after graduating. 

On February 2, 1942, Charles enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and began his training at Lowry Field, Colorado. He held the rank of Flight Officer and served with Fighter Squadron, 8th Air Corps. On October 24, 1944, while in England, Charles was killed in a plane crash. He is buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, New York.
