Leo J. Levesque, the son of John and Olive (Hebert) Levesque, was born on March 26, 1919, in Van Buren, Maine. In 1935, he relocated to Schenectady. He was a Mont Pleasant High School graduate.

On October 15, 1940, Leo enlisted in the United States Army and began his training at Fort McClellan in Alabama. He held the rank of Technical Sergeant and served with Company F, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On July 11, 1944, during the Battle of Saipan, Leo was killed in combat. He is buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, California.
