World War I (1914-1918)

Arthur Edward Granneman was born in Schenectady, New York on April 6, 1888. By 1917, he was living in Rochester, New York, and working as a production engineer for the Delong Engine Company. Arthur was regarded as a very skilled electrical engineer. 

On March 23, 1917, Arthur enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his training at Fort Meyers in Virginia, and shipped overseas two months later. He was a private first class serving with Company A, 37th Engineers, 1st Battalion. Arthur died on July 16, 1918, from wounds sustained during battle in France. He is buried in the St. Mihiel American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
