Jackson Sterling Littrell, the son of James and Beatrice Littrell, was born on September 28, 1916, in Massachusetts. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1935. Jackson obtained his pilot's license before entering the military.
On September 27, 1941, Jackson enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He attended the Virginia Military Institute. Jackson held the rank of Captain and was stationed at Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio, in 1945. On October 27, 1945, Jackson was killed when the C-47 he was flying in crashed en route from the field to Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is buried in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
