Alphonse Francis Cantore, the son of Anthony and Felecia Cantore, was born on May 11, 1917, in Schenectady, New York. He worked at the Mohican Market on Jay Street after graduating from Mont Pleasant High School.

On April 16, 1942, Alphonse enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private and served with Company A, 753rd Tank Battalion. On February 11, 1945, Alphonse was killed in Combat in France. He is buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
