Angelo Fortunato Cicciu was born in Schenectady, New York, on September 20, 1922. Angelo graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1940, and while there, he was involved in the Society of Music, the track team, the fencing and archery clubs, and the National Honor Society. Angelo continued his studies at the Bentley School of Accounting in Boston, where he graduated in June 1942. Angelo was a cost accountant for General Electric prior to joining the military.
On October 17, 1942, Angelo enlisted in the United States Army and received his basic training at Camp Butner in North Carolina. He held the rank of Technician Fourth Grade and served with Headquarters Company, First Army. On December 18, 1944, Angelo was killed in battle in Belgium. He is buried in the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial, Belgium.
