Arthur Esposito, the son of Andrew and Mary Esposito, was born on March 31, 1917, in Schenectady, New York. He enlisted in the United States Navy. Arthur held the rank of Seaman First Class and was assigned to the USS Shea (DM-30). Arthur was killed on May 4, 1945, while on duty aboard the USS Shea, when the ship was assaulted 20 miles northeast of Zampa Misaki, Okinawa. It was hit by a Japanese Yokosuka, resulting in extensive damage. One officer and twenty four sailors were killed. He is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Hawaii.
