Bernard W. Fleming, the son of John and Margaret Fleming, was born in 1915. He was a resident of Schenectady. He was employed by General Electric and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School.
On September 10, 1941, Bernard enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Sergeant and was part of the 306th Infantry Regiment, 77th Infantry Division. On May 21, 1945, Bernard was killed during the Battle of Okinawa. He is buried in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, New York.
