Bryce Benjamin Brown Jr., the son of Bryce and Helen (Ramsey) Brown, was born on March 31, 1925, in Schenectady New York. He participated in the glee club, National Honor Society, choir, basketball team, and track team while attending Nott Terrace High School, where he earned his diploma in 1943.

In October 1943, Bryce enlisted in the United States Army and attended Camp Croft in South Carolina for his basic training. He held the rank of Private and served with the 90th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. Before being assigned to Northern France, he was stationed in England. Bryce was a member of an allied army unit when he was killed in battle on June 27, 1944. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
