Casimir W. Jankowski, the son of Joseph and Pelagia (Szatkowska) Jankowski, was born on December 12, 1914, in Schenectady, New York. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School. Casimir was an exceptional golfer and boxer.
On February 29, 1936, Casimir enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant and served with the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. On March 28, 1943, Casimir was killed in combat in Africa. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
