World War II (1939-1945)

Charles Kriunas was born in Schenectady, New York, on August 7, 1918. He grew up in the city of Schenectady, was a student at Nott Terrace High School, and worked for General Electric before joining the military.

On February 4, 1944, Charles enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Camp Wheeler in Georgia. He was a private serving with Company A, 44th Armored Battalion, 6th Armored Division. On October 9, 1944, Charles was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, New York.
