Clarence Jerome Bull was born in Rye, New York, on August 7, 1896. Clarence came to Schenectady in 1915 to enroll at Union College. He received his engineering bachelor's degree on June 13, 1917, and soon after enlisted in the United States Army.
Clarence was a first lieutenant serving with Company H, 309th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division. On September 17, 1918, he was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the St. Mihiel American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
