Vietnam War (1955-1975)

Donald Brian Kearney was born in Schenectady, New York, on August 19, 1947. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and attended local Catholic schools, St. John the Evangelist and Bishop Gibbons High School. He also attended a Catholic college, Siena, in Loudonville, New York. 

On September 14, 1967, Donald enlisted in the United States Army. He was a specialist four serving with Headquarters Company, 35th Engineer Battalion, 45th Engineer Group, 18th Engineer Brigade. On April 4, 1968, in the South Vietnamese province of Quang Nam, Donald was killed when his vehicle struck a land mine. He is buried in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, New York.
