World War II (1939-1945)

Edo Morincelli was born in the town of Rotterdam in Schenectady County, New York, on January 7, 1919. He grew up in Rotterdam and was a 1937 graduate of Draper High School. Before entering the military, he worked for Central Market on Guilderland Avenue in Rotterdam.

In June 1939, Edo enlisted in the United States Navy. He served as a machinist's mate second class on the USS Helena. When the USS Helena was attacked on December 7, 1941, in Pearl Harbor, Edo was killed in the line of duty. He is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii.
