Frank Kruesi Slutter, the son of Waldron and Clair (Kruesi) Slutter, was born on May 15, 1918, in Queens County, New York.

On November 18, 1940, Frank enlisted in the United States Army and began his basic training at Fort Bliss in Texas. He held the rank of First Lieutenant and served with the 12th Infantry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On March 10, 1944, Frank was killed in combat during the invasion of the Admiralty Islands. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Philippines.
