Fred J. DeAprix, the son of William and Sadie (Little) DeAprix, was born on February 8, 1911, in Utica, New York. By 1915, he had moved to Glenville. Before enlisting in the military, Fred worked on his father's farm.
On May 14, 1942, Fred enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private First Class. Fred left for the war in 1943, and on October 7, 1944, he was killed in combat. He is buried in the New Forest Cemetery, Utica, New York.
