World War II (1939-1945)

Henry Stanley Urban was born in Schenectady, New York, on October 1, 1918. He grew up in the city of Schenectady on Seneca Street and graduated from Nott Terrace High School, where he was a member of the golf club. Before entering the military, he worked for General Electric.

On October 13, 1942, Henry enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with the 494th Field Artillery Battalion, 12th Armored Division. On December 18, 1944, Henry was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
