James Vincent Calvacca was born in New Jersey, on April 16, 1916. By 1930, he was living in Schenectady, New York. James was employed by the Railway Express Agency and Mohawk Chevrolet following his graduation from Draper High School.
James enlisted in the US Army Air Corps. He was a first lieutenant serving with the 402nd Fighter Squadron, 370th Fighter Group. On December 18, 1945, James went missing in action in battle over Germany. He is remembered at the Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Belgium.
