James Wilson, the son of Samuel and Ella Wilson, was born on October 6, 1905, in Illinois. He was raised in New Orleans and was a graduate of West Point.
James enlisted in the United States Army and was a Major at the time of his death. He was assigned to the Schenectady Army Supply Depot as a First Lieutenant until recalled to active duty in October 1940. On April 26, 1942, James was on a military operation on the Burma route when he was killed by a bomb; he was buried beside other Americans in a shared burial. He is remembered at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Philippines.
