Jasper Messmore lll, the son of Jasper and Rowena (Hedley) Messmore, was born on May 1, 1917, in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1935, he graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Missouri. It's unclear why Jasper was in Schenectady before joining the military.
Jasper was a Captain in the United States Army Air Corps. Jasper was discovered deceased on August 11, 1944, after going missing from the Army Air Forces Tactical Center in Orange County, Florida. He is buried in the Morrill Cemetery, Morrill, Kansas.
