John Joseph Kiszkiel, the son of Jan and Mary Kiszkiel, was born on February 25, 1919, in Schenectady, New York. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and worked for the General Electric Company before joining the military.
John enlisted in the United States Navy in May 1944. He held the rank of Fireman First Class and received his training at Sampson Naval Base. On March 19, 1945, John was lost at sea during the Pacific Theater. He is remembered at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
