World War II (1939-1945)

Johnson Theodore Keiper was born in Locust Ridge, Pennsylvania, in 1920. He grew up in Tobyhanna, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, and attended the Pocono Lake Township School before moving to the city of Schenectady to begin working. 

On February 16, 1942, Johnson enlisted in the United States Army. He was a technician fifth grade serving with the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. On January 2, 1945, Johnson died from wounds he sustained during the Battle of the Bulge. He is buried in the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium.
