World War II (1939-1945)

Joseph John Kollar Jr. was born in Schenectady, New York, on April 8, 1915. He grew up in the city of Schenectady, and before enlisting in the military, he worked for General Electric.

On August 21, 1942, Joseph enlisted in the United States Army. He underwent his training at Keesler Field and Columbus Army Airfield in Mississippi and Camp Howze in Texas. He was a private serving with the 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division. On March 16, 1945, Joseph was killed in battle in Germany. He is buried in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam, New York.
