World War II (1939-1945)

Joseph W. Korowajczyk Jr. was born in Glenridge, New York, on July 29, 1923. By 1930, he was living in the city of Schenectady with his family. Before joining the military, he attended Vocational High School and worked for the Lattanzio Bros. 

Joseph enlisted in the United States Army on October 23, 1939, and was deployed overseas in March 1942. He was a technical sergeant serving with Company F, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On July 10, 1944, Joseph was killed during the Battle of Saipan. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
