World War II (1939-1945)

Karl Joseph Muzikar was born in Schenectady, New York, on December 24, 1917. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1935, where he was a member of the library club.

In January 1936, Karl enlisted in the United States Army. He was a second lieutenant serving with the 31st Infantry Regiment. Karl was reported to have been taken prisoner of war on May 7, 1942. He was at POW camp 4, Luzon, Philippines, where he died on June 15, 1942. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines.
