Lloyd John Blood, the son of Harold and Marjorie (King) Blood, was born on November 6, 1924, in Batavia, New York. By 1942, he had moved to Scotia and was working for General Electric. 

On April 16, 1943, Lloyd enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He held the rank of Technical Sergeant and served with the 749th Bomber Squadron, 457th Bomber Group, Heavy. On April 10, 1945, Lloyd went missing while in flight over Germany. He is remembered in the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Netherlands.
