Lloyd John Blood was born in Batavia, New York, on November 6, 1924. By 1942, he had moved to the Village of Scotia, Schenectady County, and was working for General Electric.
On April 16, 1943, Lloyd enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a technical sergeant serving with the 749th Bomber Squadron, 457th Bomber Group, Heavy. On April 10, 1945, Lloyd went missing while in flight over Germany. He is remembered in the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Netherlands.
