Marshall Lawrence Kennedy was born in Saranac Lake, New York, on February 9, 1925. He moved with his family to the city of Schenectady and attended Central Park Junior High School and Vocational High School. Before entering the military, he worked at the Plath Service Station.
Marshall joined the United States Army in March 1943 and was sent overseas in August 1943. He was a private serving with the 20th Chemical Battalion. On January 21, 1944, Marshall was killed in battle in Italy. He is buried in the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial in Italy.
