Matthew (Mickey) Antoni Ostrowski was born in Schenectady, New York, on December 1, 1925. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and was a student at St. Mary's School, Central Park Junior High School, and Nott Terrace High School, where he graduated in 1943.
In November 1943, Matthew enlisted in the United States Navy. He took part in both the Korean War and World War ll. While Matthew was stationed in Chinhae, South Korea, he was injured in an accident and sent back to the United States, where he died on November 21, 1959, at a Philadelphia Naval Hospital. Matthew is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
