World War II (1939-1945)

Michael Marrone was born in Utica, New York, on March 29, 1922. By 1935, he was living with his family in the city of Schenectady. In 1940, he graduated from Nott Terrace High School,and after graduation, he worked for General Electric.

On October 1, 1942, Michael enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with Company E, 149th Infantry Regiment, 38th Infantry Division. Michael served in Hawaii and New Guinea before being killed in battle on the Philippine island of Luzon on May 12, 1945. He is buried in St. Anthony Cemetery in Glenville, New York.
