World War II (1939-1945)

Victor Stasinkiewicz was born in Schenectady, New York, on June 15, 1919. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and attended Washington Irving Intermediate School, where he earned a merit badge for attendance. The local newspaper reported that he achieved perfect attendance in 1935.

On March 25, 1941, Victor enlisted in the United States Army. He was a sergeant serving with Company B, 36th Engineering Battalion. He served with the combat engineers for 18 months and saw action in the African and Sicilian campaigns. On March 2, 1944, Victor was killed in action in Italy. He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
