Wilfred Francis Bresette, the son of Philimore and Julia (Marshall) Bresette, was born on August 17, 1885, in Saranac, New York. By 1910, he had relocated to Schenectady. Before joining the military, he worked as an electrician for the General Electric Company.

Wilfred enlisted in the United States Army and held the rank of Sergeant. He served with Company E, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division.  On May 17, 1918, Wilfred was deployed overseas aboard the USS President Grant. On September 29, 1918, he was killed in combat during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in the Assumption Cemetery, Clinton County, New York.
