Wilfred Francis Bresette was born in Saranac, New York, on August 17, 1885. By 1910, he was living in the city of Schenectady, and before entering the military, he worked as an electrician for General Electric.
Wilfred enlisted in the United States Army. He was a sergeant serving with Company E, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On May 17, 1918, he was sent overseas aboard the U.S. Army troopship USS President Grant. On September 29, 1918, Wilfred was killed in combat during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in the Assumption Cemetery in Clinton County, New York.
