World War II (1939-1945)

William Green was born in Rochester, New York, on March 30, 1915. By 1922, he was living in the city of Schenectady with his father and stepmother. Before entering the military, he worked for the Englebardt Furniture Store.

On February 7, 1941, William enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a staff sergeant serving with the 10th Bomber Squadron, 25th Bomber Group, Medium. William died on May 8, 1944, off the coast of Nicaragua, in a non-battle related incident. He is remembered at the Adath Israel Cemetery in Rotterdam, New York.
