William Herold Banker, the son of Gersham and Helen Banker, was born on December 6, 1895, in Schenectady, New York. Before joining the military, he worked for the Union Star.
On May 22, 1917, William enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Corporal and was part of the 11th Engineer Regiment. William died of pneumonia while stationed in France on September 23, 1918. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
